Well just to give you an idea of the situation,

Im in a bit of debt and can no longer afford my rent, how the situation got to this is a long story and wont go into it, but a friend wants me to move in with him till I'm back on my feet but he already has a BT contract so this means i have to cancel my contract when I move.

Unfortunately BT being the understanding company that they are, just say that they dont care that he already has a contract and I have to pay for the rest of the year in full if i cancel.

Now im on there top package which includes TV (its bad value and the line speeds most of the time are quite slow), so paying the full ammount is alot. I asked if i could lower my service to save money and the advisor told me that i still have to long on my contract to do that. I would have to cancel my contract pay the fee and start a new one at a lower rate. I never had any trouble with virgin media when there service was in my area :/.

Any advice?
