Default How should i restart my claim against HSBC?

    Hi all
I am currently claiming back PPIicon insurance against Royal Bank of Scotlandicon (Seperate thread) and i now wish to reclaim against HSBCicon for ppi on a credit card.
I initially wrote to hsbc sometime in late 2007 requesting they refund the ppi, to which they refused.I think i got as far as getting there final response, although i havent got the letters at hand to verify.I then left it on the back burner as i wanted to see how the other claim unfolded against RBSicon. Also didnt expect it to take so long

Anyway my question is should i start from scratch, as i havent corresponded with them for over 12 months ?

    Thanks
    Lee

If i were you i would write to them asking them to confirm their final response (they dont know you've lost it) and see if they respond
If they dont then you may have to start again

    I QUESTION THEREFORE I AM!!

Unfortunately i'm not an expert in any given field legally and my advice and that of the Consumer Action Group and the Bank Action Group is given without prejudice and without liability so please if in any doubt whatsoever seek help from an insured qualified professional. Contents of my posts are purely my own personal opinions and not condoned or endorsed in any way, shape or form by CAG. Thank you!

Lee as with your RBS thread start with the Subject access requesticon get all the ammunition you can and take it from there. To be able to fight these folks you need the facts as they have them, your SARicon enables you to get those facts and do not be put off if they try and evade. If they do not supply the goods hit them with a formal complaint to the ICO.

Remember to ask for the needs and wants questionnaire or customer duty of care questionnaire that they should have completed at the point of sale

    PPI Successes
PPI 4 settlements on 9 loans. FOS involvement on 7 added on the 8 % Statutory interest another 30% to both.
2 claims settled in full with LV without FOS involvement.
2 claims settled in full with HSBC without FOS involvement

Cap one Now with the FOS
Barclays. Paid up today 24/04/10 cheque received for over £4,500 and in the bank.
LTSB still have to decide on this as their SAR production was abysmal. Papers data mixed up documents missing etc

Please do not PM me for advice as it may be sometime before I can respond.

Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
