Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I am starting this thread on behalf of my parents.
They received a phone call from a company offering a no win no fee service to recover missold PPI agianst their mortgage. My dad is self employed and the main earner in his household. I have told them not enlist the services of third a party and let me look into it for them instead.
I previously helped them recover bank charges so I'm prepared to do the work and take this as far as i need to if there is a valid claim.
I'm sure I've seen references to PPI on this site. Sorry if I'm missing something that is obvious, but is there a guide to this sort of thing on this site? If not would it best for me to trawl through old posts in the Halifax section or are PPI claims filed seperatly. I would appreciate a little bit of advice to get started.

They received a phone call from a company offering a no win no fee service to recover missold PPI agianst their mortgage. There is a lot of this going about we can help no win no fee (but there will be strings attached) My dad is self employed and the main earner in his household. I have told them not enlist the services of third a party and let me look into it for them instead. Good move

Many thanks
First step is to see if there was a case for mis-selling the PPI! Dad being self employed is a brilliant start. Please see these links....
cost £10.00 statutory fee. you can always try and reclaim if you end up going down the county court route but at least you should have all the information to start a serious fight to reclaim.
keep posting and someone will pop up to help

Please do not PM me for advice as it may be sometime before I can respond.
Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
