Default Daring Fire vs Halifax missold PPI

    Hello,

I am starting this thread on behalf of my parents.

They received a phone callicon from a company offering a no win no fee service to recover missold PPIicon agianst their mortgageicon. My dad is self employed and the main earner in his household. I have told them not enlist the services of third a party and let me look into it for them instead.

I previously helped them recover bank charges so I'm prepared to do the work and take this as far as i need to if there is a valid claim.

I'm sure I've seen references to PPI on this site. Sorry if I'm missing something that is obvious, but is there a guide to this sort of thing on this site? If not would it best for me to trawl through old posts in the Halifaxicon section or are PPI claims filed seperatly. I would appreciate a little bit of advice to get started.

    Many thanks

    Hello Daring Fire,

    Hello,

I am starting this thread on behalf of my parents.

They received a phone callicon from a company offering a no win no fee service to recover missold PPIicon agianst their mortgage. There is a lot of this going about we can help no win no fee (but there will be strings attached) My dad is self employed and the main earner in his household. I have told them not enlist the services of third a party and let me look into it for them instead. Good move

I previously helped them recover bank charges so I'm prepared to do the work and take this as far as i need to if there is a valid claim. I would do the same and let's see if you have a claim here.

I'm sure I've seen references to PPI on this site. Sorry if I'm missing something that is obvious, but is there a guide to this sort of thing on this site? Only the PPI forum but there's a lot of valuable info in here. If not would it best for me to trawl through old posts in the Halifaxicon section or are PPI claims filed seperatly. I would appreciate a little bit of advice to get started. Here we go.

    Many thanks
First step is to see if there was a case for mis-selling the PPI! Dad being self employed is a brilliant start. Please see these links....

For claims before 2005 and the FSA ruling from which campaign

If you have a case use this to get your consumer credit agreement

Data Protection Act 1998 - Subject access request

cost £10.00 statutory fee. you can always try and reclaim if you end up going down the county courticon route but at least you should have all the information to start a serious fight to reclaim.

keep posting and someone will pop up to help

Please do not PM me for advice as it may be sometime before I can respond.

Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
