    Default Sky Overcharges

    Good evening everyone,

I have just spend the last 30 minutes on the phone with Sky Customer Services because I dont normally check the bank and leave it to wife. I have been informed by Sky that because we removed the phone lines from both sky boxes that they have been charging me for 2 separate subscriptions since December of last year and they have told me that they have sent me letters but I have never seen these letters. I have been informed that they would not been refunding the additional subscription which totals over £160. I am very mad and I have now cancelled everything we have with Sky.

Can anyone advise me how I can get our money back from Sky ?

    Regards

    Wes

You are talking about 'Multiroom' which is a discount Sky provide to customers PROVIDING they have BOTH boxes connected to the SAME working telephone line. This is advised (and has been since its inception) in all terms and conditionsicon relating to this package. Because you didn't comply with their rather silly term, they retain the right to remove the discount as they have no other means of proving that the boxes are indeed in the same location.

Because there is no dispute over the fact the boxes where not in fact connected to the phone line, the discount was lost as they took the recalculated amount. I agree this sucks, but the bottom line is it is their ball, and they have never hid the 'gotchas' to their discount scheme, so they have not been devious or underhand in any way.

Add to this the fact you've given them access to your bank account and let them remove the money also weakens your argument that you were unaware of what was happening.

They will not voluntarily refund the charges, and as your only recourse would be to sue them, they would simply point to the terms you agreed to the provision of service, and be vindicated. Sorry.

    As above,

Sky cusotmers are made aware that they only recieve a discount if all boxes are connected at all times.

Another cagger took sky to court on this matter and lost.
