Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
To be fair it was the driver who pointed out the bleach container had seeped through the boxes below and that the food was not safe. What has peed me off is that I have to go out today so cant wait till they repick and redeliver. So I chose to cancel order and go to store myself when possible. Now the annoying thing is this is the second delivery in a row which came fluid contaminated and last time I had to wait for it to be redelivered, fair enough, but this time Ive become concerened that the care of them picking it is not safe in my opinion.
I told my bank not to let them take money as I had notsigned for it and they also told me the store could free up the funds being held by calling them. But no Asda insist although I have no other money for the store and no food in the house, that they will credit it back within 10 days.
I know I need to diet but 10 days for me and the kids with only dog food in the house is a bit much...... Poor dogs going to object
I think their online ordering and delivery is a let down and they wont free my card to allow me to go to thier store when back, so I feel they dont give a damm. Rant over.
Anyone else had any horror stories from food delivery?
Re: Asda shop came delivered contaminated with bleach
I'd contact head office.
You would think the easiest solution for this would be for Asda to provide vouchers for the amount so you could do your shopping. You have still paid the amount so no loss there.
Re: Asda shop came delivered contaminated with bleach
I rang the head office twice. First said no 7-10 days and second said hold on, I did for 15mins and got cut off. Annoying thing was they had my phone number so could have called back.
Checked account and no actual transaction gone through yet but noticed food marked as delivered. Funny as I didnt sign for the food as it wasnt delivered.
Given up chasing them as they dont seem to give a damm and borrowed some money from sons piggy bank. Low eh! We had subway of the day for tea courtesy of son.
Re: Asda shop came delivered contaminated with bleach
I'm sure your son won't mind. I think a stiff letter to head office will get you something at least.
Also, on a more practical point, it's amazing what you can make with so little. Certainly cheaper than going to Subway or other fast food places. For example:
Bread, tomatoes, sliced meat, cheese = a kind of bruschetta.
Cheap pasta and some melted cheese on top.
Put cornflour in tomato soup to get a thick sauce to go with it.
Any veg in the house? get cheap pork ribs (for boiling). Boil in water, drain, chuck in veg and lentils til water is thickish. Got yourself a nice soup and ribs as well.
Re: Asda shop came delivered contaminated with bleach
we always go with jambalia
cheap 50p bag of rice, and whatever meats are hanging around
put meat, rice, passata (asda price 23p a tub) in a pot, add chilli powder to flavour, microwave for 10 mins at a time, untill rice is cooked stir each 10 mins, ussually around 30 - 35 mins
(our current fav is pepperami, pork, sausage and maybe a little pork lunchen meat (20p per 100g)).
or chilli concarne, mince (99p) rice (50p) passata (23p) baked beans (23pish) chilli powder (about £1 lasted 3 months so far) stock cubes (£1
box b.o.g.o.f)
fry mince while boiling rice, add passata, beans and about 3 stock cubes, add chilli powder to flavour and serve
pies is another good one
tin of filling (steak, chicken etc between 50p - 90p) pastry about 90p just roll pastry and put in tin with filling, ussually does one decent size pie per tin about 2 tins worth of pastry per pack) pie ussually good for 2 people
sorry thought id add some recipies good luck with asda tho
anyone else got any favorites always willing to try more
Re: Asda shop came delivered contaminated with bleach
Yummy I'll try that next time, was just so het up I sent daughter to get something for tea and of course she chose sub of the day
I shouldnt have let the food run down so, but have problems leaving the house.
Any how I finally left the house alright when two days later I checked my bank balance and found that asdas had took the money and then said well the food was delivered
Marched to the store fuelled with steam and politely demanded manager give me my money in cash. Which he did. He then proceded to tell me that they hadnt got round to writing the food off yet so thats why I was charged, nice eh
Head office said store error, store said head office deal with refunds. So just as well son was off for the day and could go with me as I dont think we would have got it back for a while any other way.
Any how got some bargains from aldi and lidl and saved half the money So there we go in future. x
