    Default Definition of car park

I have a ticket for parking on the grass beyond the bays on a council run car park in Wilmslow Cheshire.

I was fully beyond the kerbed edges of the car park. I was not causing an obstruction in any way.

Does anyone know in law, what constitutes the legal boundary of a car park. Is it the edges created by the kerbs or is it the boundary where it meets the wall / pavement / other property ?

    Any answers much appreciated.

What was the actual contravention on the ticket? I assume parking outside a bay, which it sounds like you were?

I don't think it comes down to legal boundaries - there are marked bays where the edges are obvious surely?

Can you scan and post the ticket? (minus personal details).

Might be some legal errors on it.

The boundaries of a carpark would be the physical borders of the land that the carpark land owner owns.

If you were on this land, and not within a marked bay, then the contravention has occurred.
