Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
CARS sent a letter to my home address for the attention of a previous occupier who no longer resides here (I did not know them/I have no knowledge of their whereabouts). In the letter CARS demands payment of £62.07 within 7 days of 9/3/09 relating to a Tiscali account held by a previous occupier. That account has nothing whatsoever to do with me or any other current occupier/s. The letter warns that in ignoring this payment request CARS may either:
1. Instruct their local collection agent to make a personal visit to the premises.
2. Request their Client (Tiscali) submit a default notice.
3. Instruct their litigation specialists Courtlink (UK) Ltd to commence legal action.
As this matter does not relate to me, how should I resolve the position?
