Thread: Is Anyone Else's Sar Request Overdue

Hi all,
requested SAR from Egg on 14th January and i still havent received anything!!
Contacted them on secure messaging and they replied saying ring collections department (as if i'm going to do that !)
I replied saying not good enough etc etc, just answer my question, where's my documents!
Just got another reply from them saying they are currently running 25 days behind the alloted 40 days due to high demand
She will e mail a team leader and get back to me!

Looked on the ICO website as want to complain but it says i must complain to egg first

We did receive a response to the original Subject access request and it took 52 days, including postage both ways - so only a fraction outside the limit. It finally arrived just before Christmas.

Once we received the Subject access request and had a chance to look through it, we sent them some follow up questions - requesting recordings of sales calls, asking for an explanation of notes on our file, etc.

This follow up letter has been ignored for nearly 3 months, despite a reminder being sent in the meantime.

Royal Mail confirm that Egg received my SAR on 5 January.

Letter acknowledging receipt and promising response by 13 February.

No response as at 21 March (Day 75).

That is more than 25 days beyond the 40 day period prescribed in the DPA, even if the DPA provided for such latitude.

Don't worry about it too much.
Egg are finished.

Egg are owned by Citigroup, a US bank that has been very heftily bailed out by the US Government.

There are also rumours of job cuts at Egg.

I am not sure that is quite the same as Egg being finished or that even the end of Egg in its current form would be the end of matters.

I have not yet complained formally - although I have ranted here intermittently!

That has been a matter of strategy as well as lethargy!!!

I think your use of the word cuts may be a bit too moderate.

SAR now overdue.
