Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I'm new to these forums so you will have to bear with me.
I have been off work since June last year with severe stress and depression and am still off work.
In this time I have managed to keep my ford credit account up to date paying £194.50 per month, until last month. I started getting SSP which is practically nothing and now I am in arrears with Ford. I am activley looking for alternative employment elsewhere but getting nowhere.
I have made an appointment with the CAB about all my debts but my appointment is not until 7th April, so was looking for a bit of advice prior to this meeting.
I have sent ford a letter stating my situation and I have offered to pay them half of my monthly payments (£97.25) for the next 6 months with a review after this time and if my situation were to improve during this time then I would be able to increase my payments and to pay the monthly payments plus any arrears.
I have yet to receive a response to this letter. I was wondering how long it could take to get a response, or if anyone has had a similar experience what happened?
I do not want to lose my car as I need it get to work when I secure a new job.
