Default HELP and advice with PPI claims please

I have sent the first letters to Mint, Eggicon credit card and loan, MBNAicon (Virgin) and GE money.
Mint and MBNA have acknowledged letter saying they will reply when they have looked into it.
Egg loan have said the following " After carrying out a full review of your account, our records show that you purchased the insurance through Egg website on 29 mar 05. We do not provide an advisory service, as part of our online application, you were asked to read the terms and conditionsicon governing this policy & you were required to specifically confirm that you agreed to them. In addition a paper copy of those t & c's were sent to your address prior to the purchase of the policy being completed. Our records are unable to highlight if you were provided incorrect information. If you are able to provide any additional info or evidence which would impact the decision reached, I would be happy to review your concerns."

Egg credit card say "Our records indicate you purchased insurance through egg website in 2002. Same comments re advisory service and terms and conditionsicon and paper copy. They then say "please find enc copy of real time application in the data collection format it is transposed to. This information cannot be changed manually by egg personnel.... If you had not opted into CRP during the application, this box would contain the word NONE.

GE Money say "Account cover was added on 9 nov 1985 when we received your signed credit agreement. This was opened in a Dorothy Perkins store. Unfortunately due to the length of time elapsed we have been unable to retrieve a copy of credit agreement. Appreciate due to recent press coverage you may feel you have been mis sold account cover insurance. The fsa fine relates to policies purchased after 14 jan 05 so the fsa's decision is not relevant. A policy summary and policy document is mailed to customer for their review and they offer a 30 day no quibble guarantee. Since the account was opened insurance has been clearly shown on statements when a balance has been outstanding and could have been canx or a claim made at any time. I can find no evidence of misselling so am unable to refund the premiums applied. They have said they have taken the insurance off for any future transactions and if not happy to contact Finance and Leasing association as the Financial Ombudsmanicon has no jurisdiction.

Sorry this is so long winded but just wanted to know if I can do anything else, is it worth second letters saying I still don't agree or am I over a barrel now and they won't do anything further.
Still waiting to hear from other two card companies.

Appreciate anyone reading this and help. Thanks

Definately send a follow up letter.

Did you outline why you think it was missold in the first letter? If not, stating this now would be the way to go. There's plenty to get you started in the main PPIicon forum, if you get stuck.

This is the usual response, BTW - they don't fold immediately, but you shouldn't have any issues going forward. The main thing is to stick to your deadlines - not theirs.

Thanks for your reply. I stated in all my letters that we felt we were mis sold but had used a template letter and it showed the reason being they had been fined due to mis selling. At the time of taking out we had other insurances which would have covered our monthly outgoings but can't find any of the docs now (had huge clearout and can't find stuff ) Would they stick to their guns saying we did it on internet etc and therefore should have read all terms and conditionsicon. Can I pick your brains? What is my best way to go for the comments in this second letter?
    Thanks for your help.

To my knowledge, there is no restriction on the timescales of applying as s.32 (or is it s.36? I don't have time to check right now) of the limitation acticon applies.
