The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi just joined as I received a letter from those [EDIT] nice people at UKPC, I parked my car in a carpark in Catford and then went into Lidl's which is part of the retail park, having done my shopping (took about 35mins)I still have the receipt, I then went straight back to my car and left the carpark. 5 days later I receive a letter from UKPC stating Unauthorised parking, and the Contravention states the vehicle owner left site. There is a nice little photo of my car parked (This could be anywhere) with no date or time stamp on it. If I had parked illegally why was there no ticket on my car, also I walked past the [EDIT] parking warden and asked him if this carpark was free and his reply was yes if you shop here. What an Ar%***le. Do I just ignore this crap or reply as I have received a letter from them.
Just ignore. You will get a few letters. keep them for reference, but otherwise ignore.
If you feel the need to write, then take a look at the excellent letter templates in the stickies at the top of the parking forum.

Hi thanks for responding but what are my options if I get a letter from the debt collectors? do I just ignore as well?
Also, a debt collector is just a private company who specialise in trying to get people to pay debts (often that are statute bared or made up). They have no legal powers which is why they make a load of threats as it is the only way to get people to cough up. You may even get a solicitors letter - again just ignore as it is all hot air.

most PPC debt collector letters are from the PPC itself - from the next desk down. If you get any of these letters be happy - another leech is wasting money !!
Ok Thanks for all your advice, Its good to see that there a people out there who know how to deal with these type of you know what!!
I will just ignore any letters & see what comes of it.
Hello this is just an update, I have received a second letter from UKPC this time its a final reminder for £90.00 & a threat of the debt recovery agency.
FINAL REMINDER?????? OMG. At least it wasn't in that scary red ink. Or was it? Then they really mean business.
Why not join the party and send them a fine for invasion of your privacy? Start with the fine, then threaten them with Biffo the Bear poking his tongue out and finally theaten them with the Bearliffs.
As advised, use the letters for those moments when the Andrex runs out. They are talking from parts of the anatomy that produce the same stuff they do!

You mean a threat of a private company with no more legal power than any other business - sounds impressive but is meaningless. Your just moving through the process my friend. Might get a final final reminder next and threat of court action - same principles apply - ignore.

TFT you forgot to mention the NICE BIG RED WRITING bit.
Yes sorry I forgot this - it will be incredibly large so that you cannot fail to miss it lol. It's supposed to make the threat greater - but it usually smacks of desperation.

Will Thomas the Tank engine pull the special train to this pinic?
I've seen the roster for this trip and Biffo the Bear is the driver, and yogi and booboo are doing the tickets.
They say the Isle of Sodor is great this time of year.

Hello again I have just recieved a letter from DEBT RECOVERY PLUS Ltd
with a notice of intended litigation before legal proceedings from the county court are issued, They say unless I pay £141.75 in 10 days they will take legal action I.e
A warrant of execution by baliffs against goods owned.
An attachment of earnings order,
Your personal effects being sold to pay the amount at judgement.
I have looked up this company on google and they seem like a ligit company and also at a different address to UKPC.
Any advice please.
Thanks

hey say unless I pay £141.75 in 10 days they will take legal action
Does it say will or may

None of this can happen without:
a) issuing a court claim
b) winning their case
c) you still don't pay within 28 days
