Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Got this from the Yahoo Asperger's Support group I belong to:
Hi,
I just got a phone call from the family fund about my online application which I made yesterday. They are getting ready for their end of the financial year. They need to spend all their money or they will have to give it back to the government. so if you need anything get your application in now, don't let the government get the money back they may give less for next year.
For those of you who don't know, the Family Fund helps families with severely disabled children to have choices and the opportunity to enjoy ordinary life.
They give grants for things that make life easier and more enjoyable for the disabled child and their family, such as washing machines, driving lessons, hospital visiting costs, computers and holidays.
If they don't spend all their budget by the end of the tax-year, odds are that next year, they will get their funding reduced, so if you think you may qualify, put in a grant request NOW.
I think I'll link to it from the BG as well, not too many people read this forum on a regular basis, I fear. Feel free to pass it on to other forums too. ;-)
As an update, and to let people know how good the family fund really are:
Even though we got a grant last summer and you're not supposed to be able to apply again for 1 yr, you can apply in case of exceptional circumstances.
Well, we've had the hel of a few months where everything in the house died: TV, cooker, boiler, washing-machine and finally the chest freezer. Having extended my credit in all possible directions, I just couldn't replace the freezer so in desperation I applied to the FF.
They replied today: They're sending us a Comet card voucher for £220.
This is a huge relief as you can imagine, and I am very very grateful indeed to them.
So for those of you who have never applied, don't hesitate, it really can make a difference. We were able to go on a proper family holiday last year for the fast time in years thanks to them and now it will really help us to have a freezer again (stockpiling on the foods DS2 eats when they get on special offer is a massive help to our budget).
