Default advice on cancelling sky and free view

    hello

having won my sky battle, i have decided to leave them anyway after all the hassle its caused me.
i vaguely remember someone once saying to me that if i cancelled sky i would still receive freeview channels through my sky box, is this true? if it is why dont they take the sky box back? and where do i find a list of the freeview channels i would receive?

thanks to anyone that can help me

    laura

As long as you have had sky for over 12 months you just need to callthem to apply a 30 days notice. When you get sky you are actually buying the equipment that's whay after 12 months you are responsible for hte upkeep of the equipment.

on the link it gives you the channels you would be left with
FREESAT from Sky - What's on TV - FREESAT from Sky

For clarification - Freeview is a terrestrial (land) broadcasting system and your channels are received via an aerial. FreeSat is a similar service, but provides additional channels including HD and requires a satellite dish. NNeither of these services have anything to so with Sky.

Freesat from Sky is a non HD service that provides a few low value Sky channels with the standard BBC/ITV terrestrial mix. A lapsed Sky customer may get quickly bored with the choices available (which is the idea). However, replacing the Sky box with a FreeSat HD capable receiver will make use of the existing Sky dish to receive the complete range of channels. The full details are here; www.freesat.co.uk

Just for the record if you got a Sky HD box you can still pick up BBC HD and Luxe TV HD for free. And plus ITV HD for free if you have got the new EPG.
