    Hi,

I have recently started to try to recover costs from Littlewoods, a simliar situation.

Firstly, do you have a record of all the charges that have been levied against you and their dates? You will clearly need this in order to list everything fully. If you do not then you will need to send off to them and ask for a copy of all this information from the start of your account. You will need to send £10 in with the letter to cover DPA costs. The letter you will need can be found at...

    http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...t-subject.html

If you do know all of the charges made on your account, or once you have them off the company following the above letter, then send in the next letter which asks for the charges back. This can be found at...

    http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...repayment.html

At this stage then you have asked for the money and several things might happen. More info can be found around this site!

    All the best,

    J

Hi there, yes i posted my first letter off yesterday, the thing is i have not yet paid the charges as im refusing, the debt has been passed to a debt collectoricon and im refusing to deal with them and have gone straight to Freemans, i never received statements and this is why im in arrears, well only in arrears for late payments the £25 item i brought from them was paid a long time ago, now they want me to pay all the late charges totalling £98 yeah right, no chance! Good luck to you and keep in touch so we can see if this works x

    Hi there!

Am having a few problems with Freemans myself.
Thought i would try the nice and polite approach first.
This was met with a really snotty, and quite aggressive letter.

I have now sent off my more forceful "this is unlawful, i want my money back" letter.
Will let you all know how i get on!!

    Sam,
I would just replace it with "account history" or something like that.
Didn't have to do that myself, as although i tend to throw away most of my statements (naughty naughty!), the anger that i felt when i was charged the fees somehow seeped the information into my bones, so i know exactly how much the [edit] toe rags have taken from me. Good luck!

    mushypea,

The papers were served to them officially on the 12th, and an acknowledgement was issues on the 15th, they now have about a further two weeks or so to defend. They gave £20.99 back out of £300, nice aint they...
