Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Ok hello everyone and im very new to this.... I have recently started to try to recover costs from Littlewoods, a simliar situation.
Firstly, do you have a record of all the charges that have been levied against you and their dates? You will clearly need this in order to list everything fully. If you do not then you will need to send off to them and ask for a copy of all this information from the start of your account. You will need to send £10 in with the letter to cover DPA costs. The letter you will need can be found at...
If you do know all of the charges made on your account, or once you have them off the company following the above letter, then send in the next letter which asks for the charges back. This can be found at...
hi there have you decided to do anything about freemans? I am about to start action, and there doesnt seem to be too many people taking action against companies like them.

Good luck to you and keep in touch so we can see if this works x

Good luck, I am now waiting for a response from Littlewoods... Same thing, not really much of a presedent on here for this kind of company. Lets wait and see!
Am having a few problems with Freemans myself.
Thought i would try the nice and polite approach first.
This was met with a really snotty, and quite aggressive letter.
I have now sent off my more forceful "this is unlawful, i want my money back" letter.
Will let you all know how i get on!!
hi
no response off them as yet.
thought i would give it till the weekend, then send off me second letter
wish me luck!!
Hi wondered if you could answer a quick question for me. On the data protection letter what word/s do I replace "banking history" and "banking business" with. Thank you very much for your help xx
Sam,
I would just replace it with "account history" or something like that.
Didn't have to do that myself, as although i tend to throw away most of my statements (naughty naughty!), the anger that i felt when i was charged the fees somehow seeped the information into my bones, so i know exactly how much the [edit] toe rags have taken from me. Good luck!
The papers were served to them officially on the 12th, and an acknowledgement was issues on the 15th, they now have about a further two weeks or so to defend. They gave £20.99 back out of £300, nice aint they...
Account was old, opened in 89 and stopped using it about 4 years ago.
