Default Parking ticket - Hospital and CP plus.

wonder if any one can help . A friend of mines, little girl cut her head open so they rushed in the car to hospital , when they arrived they quickly parked and ran in where she needed a couple of stitches .

They forgot to pay and display in the hospital car park - came out and found they had received a ticket. Is there any right of appeal on these as we cant see on the ticket . Also the parking atendant had entered the wrong car registration number then crossed it out and wrote the correct one - it doesnt seem fair as it was a genuine emergency.

    any advice pelase?

Thank goodness I found this site!

Ignore it. With any appeal you make they are the judge jury and executioner, and will almost ALWAYS reject your appeal.

The next step is for them to go to the DVLA for the address of the registered keeper of the car (which will cost them), and they will then send you an invoice.

Note this is a civil matter, not a criminal one, and they have to prove that their losses reflect the amount they are claiming from you, which is why they will never go to court, although they will threaten this.

Best thing is to post here each bit of correspondence (scrubbed of personal details), so we can all have a laugh and reassure you.

Eventually they will give up, so be prepared to have a strong will against the intimidation, untruths and harrasment to come.

You just have an unenforceable invoice from a private company. Do not contact them and do not tpay. Ignore any junkmail you receive, no matter how threatening. They will give up and go away.

No. In theory they are entitled to the pay and display money (a pound or whatever). But since they're not asking for what they're entitled to, ignore them. It's a mail [problem] basically.

It's just an invoice from a private company. If your milkman gave you an invoice for £50 for not putting your empties out on time, would you pay it?

CP Plus are well known on here. They operate a few car parks in Welsh hospitals too but are nothing to worry over. thier invoices are the usual PPC nonsense. As noted above though be prepared for 3-4 letters. They'll give up then. Any problems keep us posted
