got home tonight to find sky downgraded.
called them up and its because of non payment of last bill 17.50..
funny as allways pay by dd,
phoned up bank who say there is no problem.
back to sky and get the usual claptrap.
as i have two months left on contract i tell them to take two payments and the missing one. total 3 ammounts of 17,50 then goodby sky.
for that missing payment and no explanation for non collection, they charged me 3.91.
they said its an invoice charge, for not paying by dd
so sky for whatever reason failed to collect my dd, not even tried for a second time to collect the dd,
then charged me 3.91 for the pleasure
this stinks
strong letter demanding an explanation on that charge me thinks and how they justify 3.91
Only thing I can say is yes we have had problems with sky, but on a different thing. But have you tried contacting a memeber of CAG called IdaINFife, she maybe able to shed some light as she works for Sky.
If what we say helps you, then please tip the scales.
Send them a cheque for the outstanding minus the £3.91.
Mind you, they wil probably terminate your services there and then, in which case you can take action for the missing months.

normally to get 1 invoice charge credit is quite easy.
send an email throught the contact us option on the website sky.com asking for refund and the bank have confirmed they have not cancelled the dd but sky did. (although never heard of this).

i to am having probs with sky told them i wanted to pay by invoice
have only been with them a few weeks and now they have cut me off for non payment but they have not even sent me a bill but as usual they swear blind that it was sent out to me... and as i have not paid there is nothing they can do..have made several phone calls to them now to get it put right and my sky put back on but they have said untill i pay there is nothing they can do unfortunatly the only way i can pay them is by invoice so untill i get this i cant do anything
have now told them that i wont be paying it as i will be keeping the money to pay the bill that i will be getting for having to phone them..
am sick and tired of sky now they are not the most hepful of people.
that's because you agreed to pay by dd when you signed up for sky, normally you pay your first by dd then cancel the dd and invoice will be sent.
sky cannot sned out a proper invoice for you first payment cause dd was set up originally.
they can send out blank giro's and you will get a reminder
you can also make payments online and throught you tv.

i can asure you they do not have any bank details for me as i dont have a bank account...
billing has been applied have just had a phone call off sky they want 2 months payment as they bill in advance but have only had the sky on for just under a month so dont see why i should pay for the two when they have cut me off.
they cut me off for non payment so billing must have been set up.
impossible without bank details being given initially.

thank you for your advice am sure you have been v helpful as i know a lot of ppl on here and the advice they give is always spot on but i dont understand how you can say that a dd would have been set up i do not have a bank account so cant set up one am still waiting for the invoice.they issued a second one a week ago still aint come and now another one today ..
are you getting other mail and that ok? any other letters from sky, do they have your full and correct address on it?

yes all my mail is fine have never had a problem with it have had the same postman since i was little..
have had no other letters from sky just the ones asking you to subsribe to them...they said in one of their e mails that they had been trying to phone me yesterday but they had not the first phone call i had was this afternoon..i dont have a problem with paying the bill but i do feel like they are trying to fob me off untill i get the invoice..
can anyone help me am looking at cancelling my sky now after being messed around with them i am in my first month of contract i already had a sky dish and box (was left for us by landloard)but in the contact that they just e mailed me they say that i will be charged for the instullation and dish and box is this right even though no one had to come and do anything?????????

Your only hope is that 'they' have broken the contract in some way. I haven't read their terms and conditions, but you should have, and if they have stuck by the letter of those T&Cs, then there is not a lot you can do.
You can of course leave at any time, but they will be within their rights as per T&Cs to charge you for the rest of the contract.

if they supplied equipment and install they can charge for that and that can be from £120 - £200 and the remainder of the contract for viewing.
it would be an automated reponse to your email - just like a letter
as you say the equipment was already in place so you would be charged the balance you have now and approx another £165 for the remainder of the contract.

ok i know it might sound like im going on and trying to get out of paying anything but i aint had no contract it was done over the phone what happens do they post you a contract with t &c or just wait for you to ask for them cos as i have said before i have had nothing from sky no thanks for joing no nothing am starting to stress now
have just spoken to a lovely woman at sky very helpful as i still have not had any invoices sent to me so still unable to pay my bill..
but as i said spoke to a lovely woman who has just put my sky back on why is it that some people are so helpful and then you get some that just have not got the time of day for you...
