Default Re-taxing a bike that has had a 5-6year period with no SORN

Hi - new on this forum, be nice to me

Right then, I brought a bike back in about 2004 - planned to fix it up maybe sell it and move on. Problems arose, I did a lot of moving about the bike stayed in my parents garage... I did SORN it, forgot about it untill DVLA sent me the £80 fine, rand them up and said that I had SORNed it - the guy was like yhea I see, this happens, no problem. Well not happy with his 'don't really give a..' attitude I basically re SORNed it. Ever since I have heard nothing about it.

Well kinda stupedly I never realised a SORN lasts 12 months [insert face palm] I really thought you declare it off the road once, then when your ready you re-tax it... I have just reciently spent a lot of cash and time getting this bike ready for an MOT (basically a complete engine rebuild and loads of other stuff)... I found out SORN is only 12 months - checked the DVLA site for the status of my bike and it had never been SORNed once!!! the date the tax expired was the date on the site.

So I have SORNed it now, got the confirmation letter - it says nothing about the period I'm concerned about, basically it just tells me I will need to fill out a V10 when I retax.

So the question is simply will I have any problem getting a new tax disk?
