Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have submitted claim to F D for £2127.46 and now received standard letter stating that they do not agree with my contention of the charges and that if I wish to escalate my concerns to the next stage I can write to Robert Kernaghan. Please could someone advise what I should do next? Thanks.
oh .. it was actually Mr Kernaghan who replied to my prelim... unfortunately though I'd made a mistake by not adding overdraft fees to claim - so he kindly (probably beacuse he knew my claim was half of what it should be) offered to refund the amount in my prelim letter - I had to politely decline and give him new total.. letter went out today. I would send next letter to Mr Kernaghan and see what he says... what stage are you at? when did you send your prelim?

Just been and edited the LPA letter and worried that I haven't prepared a schedule of charges and how I would go about doing this. I merely calculated and totalled up the overpayment charges and fees ann overdraft interest separately - do I need to list every charge, date etc as this may take hours?
You're in the right place! Read the FAQs and template letters, then read up in the forum for your bank to see how your fellow claimants have got on. Post in there with your story once you are ready and get the benefit of their experience! See my sig below for useful links to help you on your way.
If you attempt to get your charges back without understanding the process and the arguments behind it all they will take advantage of your weaknesses. Please spend the time to understand it all, as they have a fairly major budget for their legal department. This is a self-help forum and you do need to put the effort in for best effect.
