Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have recieved my statements and calculated how much money I am owed in both charges and interest. I have looked through the messages and are not entirely sure where to send the 'initial letter' to?
Also, should I send a copy of the excel spreadsheet with this initial letter?
I just sent mine to the local branch, it gets directed to the correct dept. You probably won't get a reply back anyway.
Because you live in Scotland though, if you get to the point of issuing a claim against them through the small claims court, then you have to enter an English address, I'm not sure that it matters at this stage but maybe you'd better wait for more certain advise
I sent my spreadsheet after my lba was 'fobbed off', I suppose you could send it now or with your lba in a couple of weeks??
Hi, I gather you live in Scotland and bank with RBS? In that case you should send your letter to their registered office which is in Edinburgh I believe. If it comes to a court claim you would go through the Sheriff's court - you can only claim £750 at a time, remember. If I were you I would look through the Scotland forum here http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/scotland/
and also read Scotia's thread here http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...html#post85253
