Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Six months after final response, ombudsman cannot help
I wrote to BOS in Jan 2008 asking them to refund the PPI charges made on a credit card I have with them.
They replied in the same month telling me they were not going to refund the charges.
I stupidly thought that was the end of it and it wasn't until January this year that I read that this was a standard first reply and that you should take the matter to the Ombudsman.
I complained to the ombudsman in January this year and they have just written back to me to say that as I refered the matter to them more than 6 months after the firm issued its final response there is nothing they can do unless I can prove exeptional circumstances.
I would be grateful to know if there is any other route I can take or if anyone can offer any advice.
