    Default Dental malpractice

I am considering appointing a lawyer in a dental malpractice suit but have a question. (private dental)

The insurance company has already offered me a settlement. Is it acceptable to have the lawyers contingency fee start from that amount rather than from £0?

    Thank you in advance.

No it is not. I am in a similar position. Either take the settlement or leave it and take them to court. But you should be careful as the dentist is in a better position in court.
