My son bought a car on hire purchase recently, ive just had a look at the agreement today and it hasnt been signed or dated by anyone. My son didnt sign it, no-one from the garage signed it and i cant find a date on it anywhere. Can someone tell me if this is legal please ?
Is that just a copy for info.?
Normally the lender signs and it is sent for authorization to the finance company to countersign and you get sent acopy of that, unless the dealer is an authirised finance broker and licensed by the council to do it on the premises ( some arnt and therefore illegal and unenforceble ).
If your son has not signed anything and the finance company nhave not then I cant see how it can be legal! do you want to get out of it?
Have you started paying for it, usually send you DD mandate.
