Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I used to have a broadband account with Tiscali but I switched to another internet service provider in April 2006.
I telephoned to cancel my account at Tiscali in April 2006 before switching to the new internet service provider. However Tiscali continued to withdraw £25 from my account every month via direct debit. I didn't notice this as I was preoccupied with personal issues.
When I finally registered that I was paying for a service I wasn't using I called Tiscali - approx during May 2008. Their records stated that I did indeed cancel my Tiscali account in April 2006 but it wasn't processed.
So basically Tiscali charged me from April 2006-February 2008. Can I claim this back? And if Tiscali refuse to pay, can I take the case to small claims court?
