I'm with Allianz insurance with the army in germany. (Through a 3rd party company on all bases called O'Girkes)

I changed my car 4 times over the past 12 months or so. To make things clearer i'll explain it below:

1. VW PASSAT

2. FORD ESCORT CABRIOLET

3. FORD COUGAR

4. VAUXHALL VECTRA

Now i was insured on vehicle 2 until may, then changed it to vehicle 3, til august, then 4 temporarily until november.

I recently recieved 1049 euro in my bank account, and when i asked why, they said they made errors on my account and i was entitled to it. Then 2 hours later i got a phone call saying they got muddled up and i had to refund the money.

They claimed they didnt know why as there was some confusion with my account due to the changes of vehicle.

I said I wanted a breakdown before i considered handing it back and took out 200 so they couldnt debit it from my account (aha!).

Now they are saying that I was 'mistakenly insured on vehicle 2 the whole time, but now they have backdated all the paperwork and changed it to the correct vehicles, and now I have to pay back 888 euro (as this is the difference in payments between vehicle 2, and vehicles 3 and 4)'

Now is it worth me getting legal advice, as I was paying for a service that I wasnt recieving? I.e. i was paying for insurance on a ford escort, yet driving two different vehicles...

Or can an insurance company say 'whoops the paperwork wasnt updated on the system until now.. now its all better'?

Baring in mind they cannot prove that had i been in an accident, i would of been covered?

Please let me know as I need to pay back or cancel before the end of February, when my payment comes out.

Regards

Luke
