Can anyone give me some advice please??
I purchased a vehicle through a local car dealer in November 2007, who arranged the finance for me through welome finance.
In March 2008 I then took an unsecured personal loan with welcome finance also, this month my direct debit for the personal loan was returned unpaid, although my car payments are up to date.
I had a phone call from the local office this evening asking when I would be making this months payment for the personal loan, which I said I would be doing next week. I was then told that because I had a missed payment on my unsecured personal loan, this was linked to my car finance and if I didnt pay the missing installment then they would have to collect the car!!
Surely this cant be right, two seperate agreements taken out at different times and yet they are supposedly linked?? Would appreciate any advice, thanks.
Have you got both agreements? read the terms and conditions of the loan agreement and see if they've sneaked in a term that links them together. I suspect there isn't such a term and they're trying to scare you into making the payment. They talk utter bullsh1t at times!!

How long have you had the finance for the car and what percentage have you paid?
