"Parked In A Restricted Street During Prescribed Hours" and Permit Holders Box
Hi Everyone !
I was issued a pcn today for the following contravention;
"Parked In A Restricted Street During Prescribed Hours"
However before I challenge the PCN I want some advice.
I was parked on a street with "Parking Permit Holders" box, Zone A, however inside the box there was also a faded single yellow line, as I had a Valid Guest Voucher and it was used within a box with a sign that clearly stated "ZONE A" Permit Holders.
I just want to know if I have a valid case against Hackney Council.
If there is a Permit Holders Box, why the single yellow line? vice versa, am I right to think that there is valid grounds to appeal and that the council are upto something dodgy?
Please have a look at the pictures I have taken at the time I saw the PCN.
Im sure the pictures explain everything, please tell me what you think.
I agree that there is a sign on the wall to the left of my car reads "NO PARKING" but that just means NO PARKING in front of the gate/garage, which I have stayed slightly out of, and also I am not blocking the dropped kerb.
Any ideas welcome and also please attach any sample letters you may have.

Not 100% but certain parts of that syl look like it was a dyl at some stage.
The line AFAIK shoudnt run through the bays, they should stop where the bays start and continue where the bays finish.
The double line third pic in from the left doesnt look right either, should be single
others on here will clarify.
BTW you should obtain the traffic order for this restriction.

I agree, it looks like there was an dyl at some point. I looked at a few websites about this contravention and its definetly for the syl, initialy I thought it was for parking next to the "NO PARKING" sign that was put up in front of the garage, but it seems the "NO PARKING" sign is not a council sign and was put up because there was a construction going on.

ok to me these look like 1032 parking bays, the double transverse lines in the pics at the rear of the vw golf seem to be a variant of the 1028.4 but doubled up.
The single yellow or possibly double yellowq running throught the bays should not be there IMV. if double this changes the restriction
others may counter this but these bays do not look compliant. maybe anorak could have a look

thanks nero12 but I don't know what 1032 and 1028.4 refers to.
any suggestions as to how I should tackle this initially?

Hey
I know it about 3 months to late but just thought I post the outcome.
After sending an well written and calculated letter the council never replied back I called them couple of weeks later to find out the pcn was Cancelled.
I would like to thank everyone who tried to help. so far got 5 cancelled out of 7.
