Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Long Story short:
Smile cancelled my overdraft last year out of the blue, leaving me with £500 to pay immediately.
Rung them, arranged a reducing overdraft which they cancelled now..again, out of the blue with no warning or letter.
Anyway, received a letter from Co-operative bank debt management yesterday demanding payment immediately of the outstanding amount.
I have today sent a CCA request off to them. But i think i will have to send a SAR off aswell, as i know there are some charges on the account.
Ok, scare is over for the time being. Decided to ring them and see if i could pay it in installments. And luckily they reinstated my reducing overdraft for the next 8 months.
Usually try to avoid ringing them, but am glad i tried it this time. I can concentrate on my others now.
