Have today received a copy of my partners loan app. taken out Oct. 2006. It was all done over phone and by post. In the box where it says
I wish to purchase Payment Protection Insurance,
the little box next to that statement isn't ticked, although they both signed underneath. Does that void the PPI? I bet it would if OT wanted to claim on it!!!! The form was sent to them with the relevent signature parts highlighted for them to sigh and return. Thats what they did.
It was a one off PPi payment of £1469.40 incorporated into the total loan amount.
Any advise please my friends, I would be very grateful.
looks like you never asked for it........
unless they can prove otherwise I would ask for the PPI back, if they refuse threaten to report them to fos who are currently upholding around 80% of miss sold PPI complaints

do a full SAR and the CCA request, £10 for the first, £1 for the second. This should get you everything on the account.
When you have this write and ask for the PPI back, are you still paying the loan or is it finished?

Usually they add the PPI amount to the loan, so you borrow up front the money to pay the policy, then they spread the payments over the full life of the loan.
i.e. loan amount per month £10 + PPI £1 = monthly payment £11.
If you are still paying back the loan, any refund may come off the balance, therefore either making the monthly payments smaller, or the length of the loan shorter. Or you can stick to your guns and ask for the PPI you have paid to be returned via a cash/cheque payment.
