I ordered a bed from Homebase 30 days ago but just had a voicemail today to say it would be delayed by a month!
I'd like to cancel my order but I'm not sure of my rights as its now passed the cooling off period. Surely a 60 day delivery is excessive when Homebase quote 35days at point of sale?
Hi, there. The answer to your question is simply yes. You can cancel at any point. As for the delay it will probably be a stock delay Homebase advise of a date at the point of order but it is subject to change.
If it was ordered by distance then you simply need to send confirmation in durable form (email, letter, fax) that you are cancelling.
Homebase then have 30 days maximum to provide a refund of ALL costs associated with the purchase (delivery, admin etc) and cannot insist on the bed being delivered, refused or returned before issuing a refund.
If it was bought instore, then it will be a case of looking at the contract. You may be able to reject on the basis that delivery time was a major component of the contract
