    Wink Letter admitting "automated decision"

After successfully getting back £4300 for five years charges, I am happily now debt free. Manage my account well but in May I paid into post office enough money to pay a direct debiticon due the following day. It was not paid. I complained and received a letter back explaining these decisions are automated and the debit was paid before the credit. I think this is a significant error on their part proving it costs them nothing as no-one has to look at an account and make a decision. I am keeping as evidence and anyone who wants can have a copy. I am now going for the remaining £1300 ish charges from the sixth year as I couldn't on my first claim as it would have taken me over the claim limit of £5000. Has anyone ever done this?

    Hi arrandolly
I've had a charge for exactly the same procedure. Cheque paid in, CLEARED on the same day as a Direct Debit was due out, £29.50 Failed DD Charge. When I phoned them I got it refunded, and the lady admitted Debits are done before Credits. If I hadn't phoned, they'd have made another £29.50. Not sure how many people are aware they do this. Yet another amazing example of the tricks they are up too!!
    Cheers
