Default Unauthorised standing order from Barclaycard

    Hi

I am not sure if this question has been answered on the forum. I wrote letters to Barclaycard to accept token payments and they refused although i continued making the payments and had sent my debt to mercers. I have 2 Barclaysicon accts business and personal. I placed money in a personal barclays savings accounts a few days ago and went online to check my statements to find they had taken two payments as standing orders from this saving account. I never had any standing order with them. And I definitely did not set up a standing order!!!

Can Barclaycard do this? Is there anyway I can get this money back from Barclays?

    I'd appreciate a response.

    Thank you In Advance

They do have a right to combine accounts although they excercise very selectively so that it benefits them and rarely the customer.

    Hi C2BR,

They'll use the Right of Off-Set whenever they have the need and/or opprtunity. So any credited funds you have will be at risk of this practice.

You need to consider depositing funds with another bank to avoid a recurrence of this.
