a novice to this section of the forum so hello all
I seek advice on behalf of my son as regards a loan he took out with Nationwidein 2005 to fund the purchase of a car.
My son is 25 this month and has been employed as a joiner with the same large company since he left school. His job even in these times is secure as the company he works for specialise in hospital & school improvements
Despite his job security when he took the loan out with Nationwide he was coerced into taking out insurance of £70 per month - in his words 'scare tactic's' were used by the seller - works better with youngsters i suppose!
Two questions
i) can he cancel this insurance without penalty? he rang them today and was informed he had to write in and give a reason!
ii) How/Can I initiate a claim for reimbursement
thanks
