Think how much money we'd save. What exactly do they do that can't be delivered either centrally or via charities / volunteers.

I had originally thought that severe curtailling of their powers would suffice but sod it, let's bin the little tin pots to the dustbin of history.

It has just been announced that Plymouth City Council are hiking the rent of business units up 60% in case you think that may be a typo, it's sixty percent. One business said they went up 55% just eight months ago.

They have also announced that staff wages will have to be cut and that redundancies are on the books for 200.

They are not a business reliant on trade, they don't sell or make things so how can the recession have an affect on them.

They are just using the times as an excuse. Makes my blood boil.
