Hi I hope I am at the right place I need some advice on what to do next with regards to Welcome Finance.
I brought a car from them 25th October 2008 a Vectra only problem it had was a dent in the side not major and something that can he bashed out. When I went through the finance I was given a agreement to pay £255 which was fine then after about a hour of dithering and keep asking if I had more deposit to give ( I only had £400 deposit and the wanted £750) . They took the deposit and even reduced my payments to £240 a month. I didn't say anything as I was saving money and when I got home I thought it was for the dent in the car.
I went with my brother in law to Welcome to get a car and he got one too. But he had his own problems from day one and my car did run smoothly until 3 weeks ago. (Breifly he has now been told that his car will be picked up, credit agreement wiped off and all monies he has paid repaid to him within 7 days by the md himself).
This happened on a Saturday and I couldn't get hold of a repairer till Monday but is all repaired now and the car runs as smoothly as before. But I am worried that something else could fail. Shouldn't they have checked this? I decided that the car was not in a fit state when they sold it to me and sent them a letter asking them to terminate the agreement and pick up the car as I didn't want to be in a car that was not checked properly, I also told them that I feel I was missold the PPI cover and have not recieved the log book. I got a call from them saying they recieved my letter and are willing to come to a agreement so that I will keep the car and keep the HP with them but I do not know what to consider a good agreement. At the moment I only use the car if and when I have to which isn't much and feel over time providing the car runs how it runs now then I will feel again comfortable driving it. I suppose in all fairness that I would like them to pick up the car wipe the HP and that be the end of it but I know that isn't going to happen. I would be happy if they reduced the payments to say £100 to £125 a month but is that being realistic? They are ringing me tomrrow to ask what I want but the truth is I do not know. Half of me wants to give them a another chance as they are onto the complaint quickly and have been good whereas the other half saw what it nearly did with my brother in law and just wants them out of my life. But if I still have the car I still have something to fight with if it turns ugly later. Thanks for reading...
