Default Disabled bay fine, should i pay??

    Hi guys,

Ive just been doing some research on the WWW as i got a parking ticketicon today from tescos car park in slough.
I parked in a disabled bay as i have recentley had an opp on my hip and need the extra room to get out of the car, i didnt realise though that you have to have a blue badge to use the space. where do i stand on this one?? it is a euro car parks ticket for 70 and 50 if i pay early. i should also say the car park is quite well signed.....i just didnt read them before!

    thanks

Ignore them. A private company is not entitled to fine, only claim loss due to breach of contract - their loss does not total £50.

    • do not pay
    • do not contact them
    • ignore any letters your receive, no matter how threatening
    • they will give up and go away after 4 or 5
    • Euro Car Parks are well known. They give up soon enough
    • Write and express your disgust to Tescos.

You don't need a blue badge on private property - disabled bays are nowt but grafitti. Disabled badges are only used so the gormless luminous jacket man can choose who to give his unenforceable invoices to.

We've seen people getting them for being in a parent and child space without having a child seat in the car.

The whole thing is a mail [problem].

Correct me if I am wrong. Although the sign states for holders of Blue Badges I am fairly sure that they do not have signs stating that a Blue Badge must be displayed! I never bother to display mine when in a Tesco car park but have never been issued an invoice although my 81 year father got one.

now you mention that, the sign i read said nothing about displaying a blue badge but it did say on the ticket not displayed properly?!

They're not interested in the legalities of it - they just want you to pay up out of ignorance.

Tesco don't care either. They don't have a clue how it works, or turn a blind eye.

The only way to sort them would be to pay the money and then take Tesco, the landowner, to court to get it back.
