Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Reluctantly, I loaned a car to a memeber of the family before Christmas. I am the reg. keeper of the car.
I did not want to loan the car as it was covered fully comp and if he drove it it would only be insured by him as 3rd party. It would appear that a parking ticket was issued by the LB of Lambeth.
My query is: I live in a secure property where only I have access. No letter's have been received by me from either the council or county court. The only letter received is from Equita bailiffs claiming that I did not comply with the penalty charge.
I have sent to them a letter by 1st class post and a email to them at the web address (the letter is printed below) please can anyone assist me further.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Reference: 11667*** - L13 ***
I refer to your letter dated 20th January 2009.
I would be obliged if you would send to me the full contact details in respect of the above alleged offence as your letter is the first I knew about this matter, quite clearly a letter should have been sent to me by the relevant authority and the county court before a firm of bailiff’s were instructed.
I advise you that my address is a secure address, and that I am the only person that enters it, in this respect no-one else has access to any postings. Accordingly, the excuse that someone else may have picked up my letters does not exist.
Further, given that I am away from the property for long periods at a time you may wish to telephone me with the required details on the above telephone or email the details to me too expedite this matter. Failure to respond will result in my filing a Statutory Declaration.
For avoidance of doubt, all letters are archived and available to all concerned.
In conclusion I do expect I your full cooperation and an early reply.
