Hi Everyone,
Can anyone help me with my Three issues that I have with Air France regarding 1/flighticon delay, 2/Missing Baggage, 3/Damaged Baggage.

1/ Flight delay: My wife and I were due to fly from Manchester to Paris CDG then transit onto Delhi India on the 8th January 2009.
Scheduled Dept time Man 06.40 Scheduled arrive time CDG 09.10
Scheduled Dept time CDG 10.25 Scheduled arrive time DEL 23.00
Because of fog in Paris and the runway lights failing in Manchester The plane never left Manchester till 09.35 and arrived at Paris at 11.51 this meant that we missed our connection flight. Air France gave us a certificate of flight delay and put us up in a hotel for the night, Hotel/meals/Toiletries included. We left Paris the following day 9th January 2009 at 10.25 and arrived in Delhi India at 23.30 that evening missing one Bag (see section 2) after waiting, searching and filling in forms for the lost bag it was now 04.00 . I had pre booked a hotel in Delhi for the evening 8th January 2009 and 9th January 2009 but had not paid for it. I did email the hotel owner that we had been delayed for the first night but did not relaise that we would be held up even longer the second night. we had a train to catch at 06.00 this morning so went straight to the station. I feel sorry for messing the hotel owner about and would like to know what my postion is about compensation for the delayed flight and hotel owners lost bussiness.
2/Missing Baggage: After arriving in Delhi India on 9th January 2009 we Discovered that one of our bags was missing, It had to be My wifes. We reported it and filled in a missing baggage form to Air France representives they said they would forward it onto us when they found it. We phoned their office everyday to check if they had found it but guess what no answer. We bought a new case and new clothes/toiltries for which we have reciepts. We also have the bag tags and boarding cards. On our return home 29th January 2009 we enquired about the lost bag at Paris and Manchester it still had not been found. On 31st January 2009 the bag was returned to us. I would like to know what my postion is for claiming compensation on this matter.
3/Damaged Baggage: The Suitcase that we bought after my wifes baggage went missing was damaged on our return home. It had a built in locking mechanism which on our return had been ripped off we filled in a damage report form at Manchester but was told this report was only for us to claim off our own insurance and that they was not liable for Locks, Wheels, Handles etc. Can I claim compensation for this item.

We do have our own Travel insurance but i do not agree with claiming from them when this is Air Frances problem.
On a Positive note at least my wife did not have to do all her washing when we returned home.
