Default Firstpus PPI ombudsman or court?

Firstplus settled the second claim but not the first (had one lon consolidated into a second later on) on the grounds that they gave us an enhanced rebate when we got a new loan (still over £2,000 short of the total PPIicon and no intrest).

The amount without the 8% intrest comes in just under £5,000 would it be better to go to the small claims court or should we try the Ombudsmanicon and if the obmudsman isn't succesful could we then try small claims court?

    Thanks

Hi as far as I am aware if you go through the courts and fail you cannot go through the fosicon. But if you go through the FOS and fail you can go through the courts.

I decided to go through the FOS with my claim against Loans.Co.UK, next week the case would have been with the FOS for a year! and has still not been passed to the appropriated department. They say they are extremely busy, so its very frustrating but just hope I get a good outcome.

So it maybe how long you are prepared to wait and in my case how brave you are going through the courts (I was too scared, already been through court for a charging order). Good luck

I too have a Loans.co.uk PPIicon case with fosicon. Mine has also been with them for a year. I spoke to them yesterday and it is waiting for an Ombudsman as loans.co.uk refused to belive they are in the wrong. Loans are stalling though as they are giving what the FOS want. So the FOS is a long haul i am afraid

Thanks Olive, I hope it is worth the wait. I will be so upset if after all this time the answer is no. It seems a long time to wait to be told no! Good luck, let me know when you hear X
