Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
i have a secure loan from GE Money and ( i know stupid) i went through Investor compensation to claim back my PPI. it took them from Aug 08 to Dec 08 to wait for a letter from GE Money. I was sick of waiting so rung them up and orded them to send me a fos form to sign they did and i sent it back first class.
anyway the reason i am creating this thread is i got a letter back from FOS saying:
Having looked at the information that you have supplied to me, it appears that your complain to GE Money relates to events which occured when it was not a member of the general insurance standards council.
On the 14th jan 2005 as a result of recent legislation the FOS becames responcible for looking into complaints against former members of GISC about events that occurred while the firm was a member of GISC.
as ge money membership did not begin until 31st oct 2004 i am afraid that your complaint is not one that the FOS is able to consider.
What can i do know as Investor Compensation has said thanks but that is it for us mate.
pompey is right ,you could try the fla ,but as i,ve said before in other threads i found them a waste of time.we have successfully claimed against them only after filing at court, out of court settlement was reached.send them Subject access request then keep to your timescale ,you will probably get a letter to say but you signed and read the t&c,s,we have done nothing wrong blah blah.because they weren,t members of the gisc ge seem to hide behind this ,don,t give up it,s a slog ,unless you push them they most certainly aren,t just going to say oh sorry you are right and give you your money back
