Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi,
I have a student account with Lloyds but over the past year i have incurred unplanned overdraft charges sometimes for being only £6 overdrawn. I want to try and reclaim these charges as it has added up to quite a lot of money but i have read so many differing ways to reclaim money and people saying i can't im now just very confused if i can reclaim the money and how i go about it! Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you!
I am not an expert but I have just applied for fees from various banks, and for my son from Lloyds. This is what i have done so far which i got from this forum:
Get all bank statements - available on-line with lloyds
Use the spreadsheet on the forum to to log all unfair fees
Look for a template letter to claim bank charges back
Send the letter with a copy of the spreadsheet (do not add the 8% interest at this stage) either by recorded del or take it to your branch and make a note of who you hand it to.
I am handing mine in at my branch tomorrow, i hope this is a help to you,
good luck
either by recorded del or take it to your branch and make a note of who you hand it to.
I would definately send by recorded delivery, at least that way you have documentary evidence that they recieved it and you can get the electronic proof of delivery from the track and trace website.
In my experience, it's worth taking every precaution with britains most trusted bank
Hi
I have had a few problems getting rec del confirmed (sent on 22/1) so today i took claim into branch and got them to sign a receipt i had already prepared! They were a bit surprised but did as i asked. One of the site team has just replied in my other thread - he says they cant say they didnt receive it after that. I just typed :
Hi there, I'm new to CAG and think the advice on here is amazing.
I received 1000 back from Lloyds TSB in bank charges about a year ago, and only after sending the second letter.
However, with my back - Nationwide, it has been a little trickier, I claimed from them just before the Test Case came in, so I know that all cases are on hold from now.
But I am sure that you can still claim for bank charges, it just may take a little longer.
Also, the case on hold with bank charges, does not apply to credit card charges, though they might try to tell you otherwise.
It is only the Bank Charges case that is on hold, and the credit card charges you still can claim back.
