Default URGENT! - How Long Does An Attendant Have to Watch Your Car?

    Hi guys,

    Sorry for the urgency!

I have to appeal my parking ticketicon this afternoon really, as my 14 days are up tomorrow morning.

I got a Parking Ticket in Hampstead outside a friends (Camden Council). I was literally just a few minutes late! My ticket expired at 10:43 and he issued it at 10:47.

According to my clock though (which is set by the internet!) it was 10:43 when I got back. So I'm going to challenge his cheap Casio watch in my appeal.

I did take a photo of him at my car, so I can prove I was there just has he'd written the ticket.

But I thought there was a rule, that they had to wait 5 minutes, past the expiry time? Is this right?

If you could advise, I would be very greatful!

    Thanks

    Gav

His time will not be from his own watch, but from the PDA (ticket machine) which I think should be set correctly at the start of every shift.

However, you can still challenge on the accuracy of the various clocks involved - was the time on the ticket correct when it was issued?

Not for an instant offence, only for things like loading - to see if any loading/unloading activity is taking place.

    Hi Pat,

    Thanks for your reply.

To be honest when I got the ticket I didn't check the time then.

The reason why I thought they had to watch the car is because, It has a FROM (1040) and TO (1047) part on the ticket, which I presume is when he watched.

However he's puts I's through his Zero's, so they look like 11's?

Any other possible ideas that may give me hope in a challenge?!

Have you checked the legality of the parking bays too? Check the pepipoo and ticketfighter websites; just a thought, but just had a ticket cancelled myself on this basis and it might give weight to an appeal! Best of luck
