Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
i have started to claim my bank charges back from the Abbey, i have sent the D.P.A. request letter to get my statements for the past 6 years. as i have already read on this forum, i have received some statements plus i have received the standard letter back stating that some of my transactions are held on microfiche and that is not covered by the D.P.A., so i sent the letter from the libary that allenfromderby drafted about the microfiche argument. and as yet i have received nothing back.
my first letter was received by the abbey on the 12th june which means the forty days i gave them in the first letter runs out on saturday 22nd july which is 2 days away. what should i do wait till saturday to see if i receive anything or start court proceedings.
you now need to send them a letter before action for the dpa non complaince (i think theres a template in the library) giving them another 7 days, before taking court action
