I have recently sent a Subject access request to Citifinancial for a copy of my signed original loan documents.
I have since recieved this back and have looked at the section where I ticked the box for "I would like to take out optional PPI Insurance".
I can remember the day I signed for this loan like it was yesterday, I recall the advisor telling me I would need the PPI to get accepted for the loan, and I also recall thinking to myself that the PPI was very expensive - this is the basis for which I would like to claim against, arguing that I was mis-sold the policy.
My question is this, do I have a leg to stand on in reclaiming my PPI, as I ticked the box to actually purchase it?
Many thanks in advance for any advice that I recieve
Re: Ppi Claim Against Citifinancial - :please Help!
If getting the loan was conditional on taking out the PPI you can reclaim. Im just starting a claim against citidfinancial for numerous loans over a five year period. Each time i got a rollover loan they never refunded the outstanding PPI, they just added it to the new loan. They would not have loaned me the money without PPI, they stated this to me. Think i borrowed approx £3500 over 5yrs and paid back about 12K! Good luck.

Lloyd
I refinanced my loan about 4 times. The first two times they did not refund the outstanding PPI. The last two times they did. As i was skint at the time, if i argued and said i do not want the PPI the response was they would not be able to refinance my loan. If you rolled over your loan 2/3rds of the way through i would probably bet they did not refund the PPI. As Citifinancial loans (sister company) are designed so you frequently rollover. If you look at your credit agreements which gives the finance information and check your bank statements to check when you made the payments. You should be able to work out what was outstanding when you rolled the loan over by agreeing to further finance. S.A.R your bank to get your past statements.
I have only just S.A.R Citifinancial so my claim will commence when the details finally arrive.
When i look back the PPI on a £1500 loan was approx £550 which had interest added to it at 36% per annum.
Hopefully i will have quite a claim.
