I closed my account with Capital One credit card in 2007.
After now having a look at my statements, I noticed that i was charged a monthly amount for PPI, although i don't recall asking for this as i never took out PPI due to me being self-employed.
So I sent a letter requesting a copy of my CCA for the credit card and enclosed a cheque for £1.
I have received a letter back from Capital One, returning my cheque and informing me that as my account is now closed, they are under no obligation to send me a copy of the CCA and will not be doing so.

well yes it should, because a SAR is all paperwork or any comms relating to your A/C that they hold on record. thought here is nothing to say you cannot specifically mention it in the SAR request.
what are you trying to prove by getting a CCA?
if its about the PPI, then your payments on the statements will prove that. they cant argue, you were self imployed.
