is it true there should be a sign within 5 meters from the beginning and the end of a residential parking bay? also to have a controlled zone sign upon entering every street which is controlled coming from either way.?
I have recently recieved a parking ticket for parking in a residential bay but i feel it wrong, i have appealed against the ticket and had a response saying basically you are still in the wrong so you need to pay the ticket.
where i was parked, there was one sign in a bay that was two house a shop and about 20 meters of grass. at the end of the bay there was a lampost but no sign. on the oppersite side of the road there was no signs or lamposts.
unfortunately i do not know how to post photos of this, but i do have photos on my pc if you need them .
i also to have a controlled zone sign upon entering every street which is controlled coming from either way.?
The requirements for signage of a CPZ are that there must be signs on both sides of the road* on both the entry and exit by any vehicular route to/from the CPZ. The exit sign can be the entry sign of a different CPZ. There is no requirement for individual streets to have CPZ signage. If any lawful route (not necessarily the one you took) can be shown to be improperly signed, then the whole CPZ falls.
* there are limited circumstances where a single sign is permissible.
SYL within the CPZ do not require time plates, unless the SYL restriction differs form the general CPZ restriction
