Hi Guys
A number of years ago I had a credit card with Egg. It's the usual story of a small overlimit amount generating a high number of charges. When I contacted Egg to arrange a repayment plan
then told me that because I couldn't pay them as much a month as they wanted (IIRC they wanted £120 and I could only pay £80) they told me that it was best to default the card
Being young and pig stupid *rolleyes* I took them at their word and now have the delightful CPL chasing me for the cash.
I've been paying CPL varying amounts for around 2 years (maybe a bit more now) and have probably now paid them more than the company paid to Egg in the first place.
My first route in tacking the debt was to look at the charges... I sent the Data Protection Act request letter in July along with a cheque for the £10. I have not recieved anything back from them. So my first question is... what is the next step if they don't respond to a Data Protection Request?
Secondly I've read a few threads talking about using the CCA as a way out of the debt... Please could someone direct me to an idiots guide on taking that route?
Many Thanks in advance for help given and I apologise for being one of those people who's asking questions that have probably already been answered, I've just struggled to find the right info!
