Default Help with PPI claim from Marbles (Beneficial Bank)

Hi, I am fairly new to reclaiming PPIicon and am slightly confused and could do with some help. My hubby took out a credit card back in 1999, we believe he should be able toclaim due to the following:
    1. he was not asked about any previous medical conditions.
    2. He was not informed that it was optional.
We wrote to them asking for this to be refunded, we have now received a reply basically saying that "he would have been sent a "welcome pack" detailing the terms and conditionsicon, this confirmed that the policy was optional and gave him a 30 day cooling off period. All the info regarding pre-existing medical conditions were included in the PPI policy leaflet." They go on to say that all policies were sold in accordance of the Insuance business code of practice.
What is the next step or do we have no chance?

Hi Jessie, ive just received the same letter from them i dont remember any welcome pack! I also didnt think the PPIicon was optional it had a pre-ticked box (noone advised me otherwise). I'm not sure what to respond with. i'm going to sleep on it and see if i come up with something in the morning.

Respond by saying as we have not received a welcome pack the onus is on you to prove that we have received such documentation or words to that effect.
