Thread: HELP! Just been doorstepped by Power2Contact

I've used a different username as I'm concerned that they could tie the details up if they're watching...

Power2Contact threatened a doorstep call a few weeks ago on behalf of a credit card co. Sorry to be vague..

I wrote to them by Special Delivery over two weeks ago revoking their right... not prepared to make an appointment etc... and advising them that the CC company are in default of a CCA request and have failed to fully satisfy an SAR.

They decided to visit regardless... I'm not at home but they've just called me at work and told me to ring the CC company. I've told them I'm already communicating in writing.

What do I do now? Wife and children are worried sick!

When they visited did your wife manage to get any details of the person who called e.g. ID?

Don't worry about this. This is harassment and you will be complaining about it to the regulatory authorities.

They have apparently left a letter for me advising me to call the CC company.

Okay. I would get together a copy of the previous letter that you sent them revoking their right to call as well as a copy of the special delivery slip and a copy of their postcard and make complaints to the OFT and Trading Standards. I would also write to Power2Contact requesting a copy of their complaints procedure. If they don't comply you can also make a complaint to the fos.

You may also wish to make a complaint to the police, although how interested they will be who knows. Harassment is a criminal offence but the response you get from police force to police force would appear to vary.

Sorry to hear that you received a visit by these morans, Which credit card company/bank are they working for?.
I too received a call from Power2contact a few montha ago, i did tell the person to leave my premises as he did there and then.
It is a good job to have a camera handy, as i took a few photo's of him and his number plate of his motor.
Don't worry they can't do anything to you, as may of the CAG's will say the same as me.

I forgot to mention when you do make a complaint do emphasise that you had previously informed them in writing to not call and that home visits would be considered as harassment. They have chosen to ignore this and called on your wife and family leaving them very upset by the whole thing.

They think they are above the law. They should NOT have discussed your business with your wife or anyone else. Make sure you mention this in all your complaints. DO NOT RING ANYONE. If this muppet calls back telephone your local police and report a breach of the peace.

Despite their grandiose sounding name Power2 Contact have absolutely NO LEGAL POWERS whatsoever. Do not let them away with this disregard for the law. When you make a formal complaint DEMAND the name of the doorstepper and the person who instructed them to call.

I'm itching for Power2Annoy to come and visit me.

I get all animated when a strange car visits. I grab my best axe and [problem]per out to see if my dreams have come true.

Imagine my disappointment each time when a Car turns up and it isn't Power2Annoy.

Keep a small container of urine ( cover with clingfilm) near the door , if they turn up again , remove clingfilm and throgh in DCA face
