The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I was in a car accident in April 2008. THe car was written off, got the money from the write off and the excess. The personal injury claim has been filed and is half sorted. What i am struggling with now is the loss of earnings. The third party insurers are digging there heels in. I have sent oof my wage slips, the weeks and days that i was off due to the incident and then i had to leave my part time job. The third party insurers are saying that they want
1. Confirmation as to the actual dates and periods of absence;
2. Confirmation from your employers of these dates.
They have had a letter from my old employer stating that i worked there on the dates that were provided.
I am stuck as to what to do next. It took my old employer 4 months to send me copies of my wage slips to send to the third party.
What do people suggest i do next and do you think that the third party insurers are just blagging more time when they have the evidence?
Loss of earnings is a fairly standard item of claim and is usually dealt with fairly quickly, especially when the claimant is not self employed.
I would ask your old employer to confirm the dates you were off and send it to them, to speed it up I would suggest you draft the letter yourself and then call on your old employer just to sign it.
