Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
i purchased an Aprilia RSV-R (well you dont have a motorbike section ) from a dealer miles away. The paints now started flaking off the front wheel so, i thought i would give my local dealer a ring - who by the way are rated as the best aprilia dealers in the country. As its still under warranty I thought no worries, won't cost me anything.
The local dealer is however not accepting the warranty work as I didn't buy the bike from them, can they do this??? Surley this negates the whole point of a "dealer network"?
Dealers aren't part of the manufacturer, but franchises in their own right.
I can't understand why he wont except the work as he would make some money from it, but it his his right to do so.
Go back to the dealer you bought it from and he will have no choice but to do the work.
You could drop a line to Aprilia pointing out your disappointment and nameing the dealer that refused.
Trading Standards wants your help
Dubious website businesses Conterfeit alcohol and cigarettes Illegal sales of alcohol, tobacco, knives & fireworks to children Cowboy builders or tradesmen Car clockers Counterfeiters Aggressive selling
Never phone or accept phonecalls from debt collection companies.
If you don't believe you can win, there is no point in getting out of bed.

yeah thats the concensus Im getting from some of the Aprilia forums. Its basicaly against Aprilia rules and that any dealer should honour it but, Aprilia don't enforce it and don't care.
Im now in contact with the original dealer. They want pictures etc to send to Aprilia who he said "are very good at wriggling out of there warranty repairs" to which I replied, "I dont care, its not of merchantable quality and is so covered under the sales of goods act" - which someone at consumer direct has already confirmed.
